The RSS Feed Monitor reads public RSS and Atom feeds and returns the items those feeds publish. Each record includes the feed URL, the item title, the item link, the date when the feed provides one, and the summary text.

Use it when the publisher already offers a feed. It is the wrong tool for a site that has only HTML pages and no feed.

Who it is for

Researchers, analysts, and operators who already have feeds and want the new items, not a custom crawler.

  • Collect new posts from a list of company blogs.
  • Archive changelog or status-page items that a vendor publishes as a feed.
  • Watch newsroom feeds for a set of organizations.
  • Poll job feeds that an employer already exposes as RSS.

Limits

  • A page with no feed is out of scope. The tool does not invent a feed by crawling the HTML.
  • Change detection uses the item guid when the feed has one, and the link when it does not.
  • Feeds that omit dates cannot be filtered reliably with since.

What it does not do

  • It does not render JavaScript pages.
  • It does not log into a private feed.
  • It does not fetch the full article body unless that body is already inside the feed.

FAQ

What counts as a result?

One feed item. A run that reads three feeds and finds 40 new items returns 40 results.

Can I point it at a homepage?

Only if that URL is the feed itself. A normal homepage URL is not a feed, and this tool will not scrape it for articles.

How does it know an item is new?

It treats the guid as the identity when the feed provides one. Otherwise it uses the item link.

Does it store my feed list on lepidata.com?

No. You run it on Apify. This website does not receive the feed URLs or the items.

Will it follow a feed that requires a password?

No. Private feeds are out of scope.
