IP Fraud and VPN/Data-Center Check

Page updated

The IP Fraud and VPN/Data-Center Check API will take one public IP address and return whether the DB-IP and IPinfo datasets flag it as a VPN, a proxy, or a hosting and data-center range. It is coming soon on RapidAPI.

A flag describes the network range, not a person. The API will not name a user, and it will not report Tor exit nodes.

Who it is for

Developers who need a simple API answer for one public IP address at a time.

  • Flag a signup IP that falls in a known hosting or VPN range.
  • Separate residential-looking addresses from data-center ranges in a log you already hold.
  • Show a support team why an IP was challenged.
  • Check a single address during a fraud review without building a dataset pipeline.

Inputs

Billing happens on RapidAPI, not on this website. This tool is not for sale yet.

Limits

  • This API is not for sale yet. It is planned for RapidAPI.
  • Flags come from DB-IP and IPinfo datasets. A flag is a network classification, not a judgment about a person.
  • Documentation IP addresses such as 203.0.113.0/24 are examples only.

What it does not do

  • It does not identify the human using an IP address.
  • It does not include a Tor exit flag. That is a separate question and is not part of this API.
  • It does not bypass a VPN. It only reports dataset flags.

FAQ

Which datasets are used?

IP geolocation and network flags from DB-IP and IPinfo. Both are credited on the credits page.

Does a hosting flag mean fraud?

No. It means the dataset associates the address with a hosting or data-center range. What you do with that signal is your decision.

Will it say if an IP is a Tor exit node?

No. Tor exit checks are not part of this API.

Where will billing happen?

On RapidAPI, once the API is listed. There is no price yet and no listing link.

Can I send a private address such as 10.0.0.1?

Private and reserved ranges are not useful inputs. The API is for public addresses.

There is no listing button yet. This tool is still marked coming soon.
